Dear Heather,

I neglected to look at the forum lately and didn't see the new entry! I like the assured, almost arrogant stance. It reminds me of T. S. Eliot's phrase "April is the cruelest month." The willow-like leaves, their spirals around her (echoed on her jacket design) and their shadows on the ground are particularly lovely. I also like the fact that, although the colors fit, the body language and clothing run against the pastoral softness and sentimentality routinely associated with spring.
For I come from an ardent race
That has subsisted on defiance and visions.

Dear Athena,

Though I responded elsewhere, I'm happy you like it!

The body language, alongside the strokes of detail down to the figure's green-on-black eyes is exactly what I aimed to incorporate.
